Job Description

·         Assist the Fleet Operations Manager to arrange supply and maintenance contracts for Transport Workshops.

·         Manage workshop activities in the absence of Service Managers

·         Schedule vehicles for routine maintenance in compliance with the Operators licence

·         Assist the Fleet Operations Manager to arrange supply and maintenance contracts for Transport Workshops.

 

·         Manage workshop activities in the absence of Service Managers

 

·         Schedule vehicles for routine maintenance in compliance with the Operators licence and best practices, programme all necessary tests and inspections on vehicles and ancillary equipment and advice workshops and customers accordingly.

 

·         Assist with compiling technical vehicle specifications and maintenance schedules in co-operation with Departmental Transport Officers, Workshops, suppliers and manufacturers as necessary, to meet operational customer requirements.

 

·         Conduct condition reports on vehicles and plant as necessary for the purpose of insurance, sales and purchase.

 

·         Check and ensure follow up action is taken when vehicles do not attend scheduled safety inspections/service or MOT.

 

·         Monitor and revise the type of work, service contents and repair locations as necessary to provide an efficient fleet operation including workshop, parts, quality inspection, equipment, resources, recovery and standby.

 

·         Update the fleet management system with vehicle details, allocation and returned vehicle details as appropriate.

 

·         Prepare cost analysis and periodic management/operational reports.

 

·         Work closely with the workshop, collate, analyze and report on the status of each truck in the fleet.

 

·         Liaise with the police and other transport road management authorities where necessary.

 

·         Deploy a state of the art truck tracking software (device) to monitor movement of fleet at all times.

Requirements

  • HND/B.Sc in related discipline with at least two years working experience.
  • Preferred Field of Study: Sciences, Management Sciences and Engineering or it related field.
