Job Description

Reporting to the Group Head of Bancassurance, the role holder will be responsible for the overall growth and development of Insurance Business in the regions/ Branches within Kenya.


Develop articulate sales & marketing objectives and provide effective leadership and direction to the Bancassurance teams in branches/regions to aggressively drive insurance business growth and development

Establish and maintain close working relationships with regional heads and branch management teams and ensure smooth running of insurance business across KCB Outlets

To provide continuous couching and mentorship of regional Bancassurance team leaders to create capacity and enhance leadership talent

Provide leadership in planning insurance targets for branch teams, control and evaluation of their performance

Build and develop a high performance culture through continuous couching and development and evaluation of the sales team against key performance indicators

Champion high standards of customer service

Understand and provide clear direction to the teams through regular visits to regions/ branches

As a member of the Bancassurance management team, participate in policy formulation, planning, review and execution of the insurance Strategy within the bank

Participate in the research, development and implementation of new insurance innovations

Ensure continuous promotion and enhancement of the KCB brand and image

Leverage all marketing initiatives undertaken by the Bank across the business to drive insurance business


A University degree in a business related course and preferably specializing in Insurance

AIIK Diploma or good progress towards attainment of ACII Professional Qualification

At least 7 years relevant working experience of which 4 years must be in the management of marketing teams or relationship management in the Insurance environment preferably within an insurance intermediary or Bancassurance

Proven Track record of leading sales/marketing teams in achieving insurance sales targets

Very good understanding of both General and life insurance products

Excellent people management, motivation and mentorship skills

Has strong business acumen and agility to spot and exploit business opportunities

Strong negotiation and networking skills

Reliable and self-driven team leader with strong interpersonal and persuasive skills

Impeccable Communication skills and excellent Customer service skills

Good planning and organization skills with the ability to deliver effectively under strict deadlines

Has passion for results with strong business development, innovative and sales/marketing skills

Ability to deliver timely marketing management reports, flexible, assertive and confident

Willingness to work extra hours depending on the demands of the job

Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports and economic forecasts

Ability to treat all client information with utmost confidentiality

Has high levels of integrity, is honest and trustworthy in character

Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software

Ability to work independently and offer effective solutions

Ability to develop working relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners
