As a Policy & Risk Manager you will be reporting to the Head of Banking in developing a fit for purpose end to end management framework, to ensure controlled, compliant customer focused outcomes are delivered and that risks of relevance to the Banking business are managed in accordance with risk appetite


Taking responsibility to ensure the design and performance of the Banking Control Framework is robust and consistent within Co-operative Banking Group’s risk appetite, providing support and challenge to the Banking Business Managers in their role as end to end process owners and to operate the first line of defence for Banking Policy.


You’ll provide specialist advice and guidance to enable the Bank to successfully deliver the overarching objective of becoming the compelling cooperative alternative in the UK Banking market. Supporting strategic priorities in developing a fit for purpose end to end management framework, you will lead a team and enable the delivery of the Banking Policy and Risk people development, championing leadership behaviours to inspire and motivate all Banking colleagues to deliver successful outcomes.



  • Operated with the UK Financial Services specially to the Banking Product Portfolio of Current Accounts, Debit Cards, Everyday Savings, Credit Cards and Loans.
  • Subject matter expert in leading policy innovation, risk, control and governance. Anticipating regulatory and legislative intentions (UK and EU), interpreting and guide or act as SME to apply new or changing regulations to enable the business to achieve agreed business requirements.
  • Significant knowledge in the Banking Conduct of Business Source Book (BCOBS), ICOBS and CCA.
  • An influential relationship builder with excellent negotiation and communication skills, you must also be a decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritise a diverse workload and take our approach to treating customers and colleagues fairly to a whole new level.
