Primarily responsible for the day to day maintenance, fault finding and fault resolution for all MCR, Playout, Headend (DTH and Internet), Contribution (BT lines etc.) and Uplink systems and services.
The overall purpose of the role is to significantly contribute to the proactive maintenance and support of the diverse range of systems that Broadcast Services are responsible for at these sites on which significant parts of Sky’s business depends. As part of the Broadcast Engineering function, this role requires close collaboration both within Broadcast Services and with key areas of the wider Technology Division.
The Support Engineer is specifically tasked with ensuring continuity for project activities and significant maintenance work relating to the Chilworth systems and services. This is achieved by regular collaboration with the relevant project teams and other support teams during the provision of new systems, functionality and significant upgrades.
Your excellent communication and stakeholder management will see you carefully develop and manage relationships with all relevant parties to ensure both stability of the platforms and fast roll-out of new functions for the various services.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, you will be an experienced Support Engineer from within the Broadcast Industry.
You will be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge and understanding across Entertainment and Broadcast Technologies, with specialist knowledge in a specific limited field. Your proven experience will include understanding the technical aspects of broadcasting both via satellite and via internet and mobile, experience in RF systems in Broadcasting and a sound understanding of IT and Networking for basic network issues. Bringing your Broadcast Support Engineer industry experience, you will have confidence in your abilities to work within a live, business critical environment and be a natural motivator and leader.
