Job Description

Partners with IT and assigned business line(s) to assess, research, analyze and document business and systems needs in order to meet business requirements and resolve business issues by recommending business solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.

Context: Small to large development, enhancement, or maintenance projects, with responsibilities across multiple projects for multiple sponsor groups.

All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.


Business Analysis & Consulting

Provides consulting services to business partners on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity).

Develops proposals for small to medium projects and has input on proposals for large projects.

Leads detailed requirement phases identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues.

Assess research, analyze and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with PMF deliverables utilizing standard documentation templates. Identifies, reports, tracks and resolves business systems issues.

Recommends business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients.

Together with Project Manager and BPM Manager, determines best approach to development of BPM solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives.

Ensures adequate end user documentation, training and post-implementation support.

Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.

Planning & Testing

Develops detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of Requirements and Analysis phases of projects

Develops test plans and executes testing including leading the functional and user testing by facilitating participation of appropriate staff in project completion.

Relationships & Communication

Effectively communicate and build strong working relationship with team members (onshore/offshore), stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.

Facilitate small to large meetings and conducts information gathering sessions (e.g. JAD).

Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners and senior management, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience. 

Resolve conflicts/issues of medium complexity and escalate as appropriate
