Job Description

ABOUT THIS JOB   The Integrated Operations Competency & Curriculum Manager will work with business segment functional leaders and their teams to identify development gaps and performance issues that impact current and future business. The position will design, develop, and implement competencies, curricula, and learning solutions to close gaps and improve business performance for designated areas of the business.  Additionally the role will manage the assessment process for mid-career technical experts and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the program. 


  • Responsible for developing appropriate technical competencies and the maintenance of standards within Competence Systems and processes for Engineering, Operations, and Project Management; Gatekeeper for the Competence Management process.
  • Responsible for developing appropriate curriculum to support development of competencies for Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams.
  • Oversee implementation of learning events for the impacted employee groups
  • Develop and rollout learning roadmaps for each role in the Engineering and Operations Career Development programs, including formal training, on the job experiences, and development roles.
  • Manage assessment process for mid-career review programs
  • Analyze, measure, and continuously improve the overall program.
  • Monitor the impact of training and/or people development solutions to evaluate the organization impact of implemented strategies on required competence levels;
  • Accountable for ensuring Group compliance with all Enterprise directives and initiatives
  • Approver for LMS structural additions 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or learning related fields
  • General knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  • 5+ years’ experience in areas of training, organizational development, business consulting, or quality management
  • Understands how curriculum affects functional support services and/or business products and services
  • Understands how learning integrates with performance management.
  • Basic knowledge of Project submissions
  • Extensive knowledge of competencies and behaviors and development tools.
  • Background in training and employee development.
  • Strong communication skills to work across multi-levels of stakeholder groups
  • Project management discipline
  • Understanding of adult learning methodologies  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understands how learning integrates with performance management.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Masters Degree in Organizational Learning or Design
  • Masters in Engineering
  • Drilling Engineering or drilling related operations support role
  • Formal competency development skills
  • Project Management Professional or similar Project Management certification
