An opportunity has arisen within the central commercial function based in Bristol for a Commercial SME, reporting to the BDUK Commercial Director. Working closely with other functional teams and customers, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading proposal development and negotiation and providing contracting and Intellectual Property expertise to develop and negotiate creative business solutions for new and follow-on business.
The individual will administer contracts and agreements to ensure efficient, effective and compliant performance during the entire acquisition and product lifecycle including interpretation of contract requirements, risk management, change management, conflict resolution, delivery and payment for products and services.
The Commercial SME will establish professional networks and customer rapport to facilitate company objectives and customer satisfaction, provide contracts and pricing mentoring, technical and operational leadership across the enterprise and partner in the development of business until strategy and achievement of goals.

Technical. Estimating Methods. Oversees application of estimating techniques and relationships by direct reports to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation. Reviews and approves estimates.
Works with managers to help clarify roles and responsibilities of team members; helps ensure that necessary steering, review, or support functions are in place. Works with managers to make procedural or process suggestions for achieving team goals or performing team functions; provides necessary resources or helps to remove obstacles to team accomplishments.
Ideally degree educated or equivalent in a Finance/Commercial/Business related subject. Must demonstrate previous work experience of Commercial expertise with Pricing and Contract Formation knowledge. Successful candidate will either be SC Cleared or have the ability to obtain SC.
