Job Description

To develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with Nigeria Wholesale Bank strategy and product postioning to ensure delivery of the trade, cash and supply chain budget
Understand the needs of customers and prospects, and thereby maximize profitability from existing relationship and book new business
Manage resources effectively by deploying to different parts of business with maximum return
Identify threats in targeted segments for transaction banking business and implement plans to counter impact on business
To plan, co-ordinate and monitor growth of sales on all transaction banking products
Maximise Trade & Cash Management returns from existing relationships


To contribute in the development and implementation of dynamic sales plans in line with overall product strategy plans, in conjunction with the Regional Head, Transaction Banking Africa, to ensure that revenue and profitability budgets are achieved in country.
To understand customers businesses and to anticipate their requirements through consultative selling. To match customers’ needs with solution capabilities through presentation of tailored proposals. To negotiate terms and conditions with customers to maximise revenue and profitability. To ensure that the TB team is informed of customer n eeds trends and market intelligence to keep abreast of market developments that impact on the competitiveness of our products
To co-ordinate the provision of assistance by TBS’s to relationship managers in maintaining ongoing close contact with clients to ensure targeted realisation rates are met to generate new revenue opportunities, and to gain feedback on the product.
To identify opportunities for cross-selling and referral to other SCB sales lines through developing and maintaining a close understanding of customer’s businesses through close contact with the customers.
To participate in various client functions, conduct client surveys and conduct focus groups to ensure product and market intelligence feedback is solicited, and used in a way which enhances SCB’s competitive positive.
To assist in scoping the market for cross border deals and work as the lead in coordinating them on materialization
To resource, lead, motivate, set objectives and develop the sales skills of the product sales team to ensure that they achieve their sales targets and objectives
Develop the skills of direct reports and the rest of the sales team and provide training in the designated products to RM’s as appropriate. Drive staff high engagement initiatives e.g: team building.


University Degree with at least 10 years sales/sales management experience
Expert knowledge of trade, supply chain and cash management products avaialble globally, their features, applications and potential imporvements and to combine these with the a bility to translate these into the local market.
