QMC's Customer Engineering team supports customers and network operators with understanding, integrating, testing and optimizing performance of software features for ASICs supporting a variety of air interfaces and other related technologies including multimedia. The role requires interfacing with handset developers, base-station inter-operability testing partners and wireless carriers worldwide. Training, publishing application notes, assisting customers with software integration, development, and system debugging are some of the key daily activities in this role. Support to the customer is provided remotely (using a variety of tools) or, when needed, on the customer premises which makes travel an essential requirement for this role.
Familiarity with ARM architecture, ARM assembly, emulators and JTAG-debugge..
Embedded or wireless system software development and integration on telecommunications devices.
Experience with embedded build systems including compiling, linking, loading, and executing firmware images.
Highly desirable skills:
Radio Frequency device knowledge, both Receiver and Transmitter chains. Clock control, power control and GPIO control.
Experience with RF test equipment measurements for power, spectrum, and waveform quality in at least one cellular standard
WCDMA, HSPA, GSM/EDGE, LTE and CDMA2000.
Experience with development of Layer 1 or RF Driver software using the C programming language, for at least one of the following technologies: CDMA2000, WCDMA, HSPA, GSM/EDGE, and LTE.
Experience with power and spectrum signal analysis using IQ capture data.
Acting as the key liaison between QMC engineering and customers, our engineers interact with marketing, test engineering and sales to ensure customer products are received favorably and on time in the marketplace.
It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn and internalize QMC software and operation concepts very quickly, supporting a wide range of software discussion (e.g. ranging from low level embedded software issues to operator level feature deployment and planning).
Customer Engineers are expected to have strong communication skills, and be effective team players. It exposes the candidate to the key players in the wireless industry worldwide and places him or her right in the heart of the dynamism of the wireless world.
