Job Description

  • Support effective 2-way communication with the relevant areas of the OSyS and Customer organisations on standards and best practice

  • Carry out controlled define, design, build and test, verification and roll-out of optimised data management tools and services
  • Development of appropriate documentation - requirement/design/test
  • Effective hand-over to the Data Management Service Delivery Teams and provision of on-going technical support

  • Works with internal and external technology providers to ensure maximum leverage of their solutions
  • Researches new technologies while keeping up-to-date with technological developments in relevant areas Principal Functions:
  • Supports the improvement and maintenance of higher levels of data quality across all Data Services
  • Responsible for improvement in data quality standards, prevention of data quality problems into information systems, monitoring data quality activities to determine effectiveness, and initiating corrective actions
  • Responsible for technical design, development and implementation of data quality cleansing/matching/standardization solutions
  • Experienced in concepts and tooling used to identify and correct data quality problems
  • Coordinate implementation and maintenance of enterprise code sets to ensure compliance with data quality standards
  • Support the development of metrics to track key performance indicators for data quality
  • Experience in data analysis; heavy emphasis on analysis of data through data profiling
  • Ensure appropriate level of effort is reflected in each project work plan (i.e., tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resources) for the various components
  • Apply broad knowledge of Data Quality technology design, techniques and approach across project life cycle phases to address business requirements
  • Contributes to enterprise data governance activities as needed; including policies and procedures
  • Participates as required in meetings with internal and external customers in order to understand their requirements and implications of Data Quality services; while also being able to succinctly explain data architectural issues in business terms

  • Strong XML knowledge, including essentials, XSL, xPath, XSLT, XQuery
  • SOAP experience/knowledge (basic)
  • Batch file experience, including DOS, Windows Base Operating System, etc.
