Job Description

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of Contracts and Subcontracts mission and staff in support of and reporting directly to him/her. As a working Director this position will require supervisory and demonstrated contract management, subcontract management, compliance management, and proposal development experience as well as negotiation and complex problem solving skills. The Director of Contracts will provide contract guidance and interact with external customers and with Company management, operational and corporate support organizations.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership and direction within the organization to include supervision, retention, mentoring, training and development of staff

- Compliance with all applicable Company policies and government regulations

- Management of complex contract issues with numerous and varied government and commercial customers

- Interface with Company Management on all issues related to contract performance and customer challenges

- Develop high quality, compliant business / price volumes in accordance with solicitation objectives and schedules

- Provide high quality, compliant contract administration, including the timely review and execution of agreements appropriate risk identification and mitigation, and contract closeout activities

- Participate in proposal reviews, including price strategy reviews

- Develop good working / business relationships with senior contracts officials with major customers

Specific Qualifications:

- Minimum 10 years of progressively complex, relevant contracts experience; supervisory experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of federal contracting regulations, policies and practices in order to provide accurate interpretation and implementation

- General Services Administration (GSA) schedules contracting experience

- Proven track record as a contract professional, pricing strategist, and experience with all contract types

- Highly motivated with good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

- Professional maturity, strong leadership skills and proven experience in building/managing teams and motivating staff at all levels to bring diverse sets of people together to resolve problems

- Good mathematical, analytical, and reasoning skills as well as the ability to create and communicate complex business models and innovative solutions

- Ability to operate independently and in a team environment to communicate effectively with technical staff, peers, management and with customers

- Persuasive and professional verbal and written skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Proficient in using standard MS Office programs

Desirable Certifications:

* Any Legal Qualification

Minimum Level of Education:

HND or Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Administrative or related field

* A Post Graduate or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field. (Other education or commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.)
