In principle, a Drilling Cost Controller is responsible for planning, development, tracking, analysis and report on project costs and checking and approval on invoices associated with the execution of well projects in onshore and offshore area.
Ensures operational and project expenditures are effectively managed, controlled and monitored
Responsible to contribute to the AFE submission process, manages well costs and prepares forecasts, checks and approves invoices, etc.
Responsible to assist procurement and commercial part of supply activities required to support drilling & completion operations in onshore and offshore.
Build initial AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and subsequent revisions.
Monitor and report on actual spend by contractor and supplier.Monitor spends by category and contractor versus Budget.
Monitor and report monthly accruals for work performed versus invoices received.
Monitor and forecast “future outlook for spend” versus actual spend amounts and timing.
The job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required.
Provides and gives work direction to less experienced colleagues, etc. Openly shares knowledge
Participates in relevant local industry forums
Requirements Drilling Cost Controller -
Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost control and supply chain management.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost control and supply chain management in Oil & Gas upstream industries.
Previous Experience ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) will be preferred
Good understanding of drilling & completion operations
Solid understanding of the demand / supply Chain process, accounting principles in Oil & Gas upstream industries.
Ability to work well with others in a culturally diverse; mutli-functional team environment.
Able to interact effectively with peers; service and contractor representatives.
Strong computer skills are necessary with emphasis on MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
Degree in related disciplines
Must maintain and promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics.
