Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for systems design and implementation tasks associated with the development of next generation Near Field Communications devices alone and in combination with Bluetooth, WLAN and Wireless Charging systems.
The candidate will work within the systems engineering team to develop algorithms and practical implementation of these algorithms in analog, digital and firmware portions of ASICs. 

Responsibilities

 Developing practical implementation of receiver and transmitter algorithms designed for low power, small die area and high performance
• Simulating and verifying system performance of these implementations 
• Working with the analog and digital hardware development team to implement and verify the design 
• Development and debugging of bit- and cycle-accurate models of these algorithms
• Chip and reference design bring-up
• Driving performance testing and evaluation
• Trouble-shooting problems and issues.
Job Requirements:
• BEng, MEng or PhD in electrical engineering, concentration in DSP/Communications 
• 5 years in working on communications systems implemented in ASIC
• Must have experience designing communications blocks, simulating performance and modeling real world system impairments.
• Comfortable interacting with analog and digital engineers and providing design support
• Experience developing analog specifications, will participate in review of at least high level design specifications from analog team 
• Algorithmic definition or analog/channel performance modeling using Simulink/Matlab/C++/system C. Systems support from specification through to tape-out
• Candidate must have good communication and documentation skills and willingness to interact with various groups within the company in various time zones. 
• Familiarity required with at least some of: Matlab, Simulink and C and C++
Beneficial Skills and Experience
• Some laboratory experience required. Familiarity with lab equipment such Oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, VSAs etc.
• Familiarity the implementation of communications PHY and MAC layers
• Familiarity with NFC
• RF Systems knowledge
• Standards work experience
