Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on a 10/3 rotational basis located at our Bonny Island site in Nigeria . The successful candidate will provide supervision of local and expat finance team and reporting to regional Finance Manager and project Business Services Manager. Fully accountable for compliance with all local tax requirements, preparation and reporting of quarterly forecasts, monthly project and balance sheet accounting, client invoicing and AR management.


Preparation of annual plan and quarterly forecasts in line with group reporting schedule

Preparation and review of month end project accounts in adherence to monthly deadlines

Detailed analysis and reporting of monthly project performance against plan to regional finance manager

Ensuring compliance with all monthly and annual local tax requirements

Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigation into movements and discrepancies

Cash management and control of Intercompany accounts and settlement

Presentation of detailed revenue vs. cost analysis to project and regional management

Regular reconciliation between local and head office accounting systems

Supervision of finance team to ensure:

Processing of local payroll in line with national labour code

Administration of local accounts payable involving verification and payment of invoices in line with contract

Timesheet data input for all on-site personnel and weekly reporting for client approval

Preparation of monthly client invoices in accordance with commercial terms of the contract

Regular monitoring of Account Receivable and Unbilled

Prior financial management experience within Africa involving month end deliverables, forecasting, tax, balance sheet management, variance analysis and presentation to management

Excellent self-management and organisational skills

Strong written and oral communication skills essential for regular interaction with client and reporting to on site and head office management

Established supervisory skills

Ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment


High proficiency in MS Excel
Familiarity with local tax system.
Experience/knowledge of Oracle or similar GL/ERP system
Experience of a similar international accounting role within the region
Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA or similar)
