Job Description

Ernst & Young's Financial Services (FS) Tax practice provides tax advisory, transaction, and compliance services to a variety of clients operating in the financial services industry. Our clients include some of the world's largest banks, pension funds, and asset managers. 

The US team are a growing practice of 30+ US tax professionals focused on providing excellent client service to the asset management industry including real estate, private equity and hedge funds and their management companies. The team is highly dynamic and is looking for motivated, energetic and teaming individuals to join the team in London. 

  • Your focus will be on the delivery of high quality tax advice to our private equity client base, and provide support to our growth strategy in private equity

  • You will provide complex US and international tax advice in respect of a wide variety of tax scenarios, including the structuring of funds, acquisitions and disposals, and carried interest planning

  • You will pursue and develop new opportunities both in respect of existing clients and prospective clients

  • You will lead a specialised team of tax professionals, develop their skills, and contribute to the enhancement of the team spirit

  • You will report directly to our partners and directors
  • Requirements


  • Experienced tax practitioner - with Funds tax background as highlighted above

  • US Funds knowledge

  • FS industry and product knowledge preferred

  • Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges

  • Team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams

  • Client driven and strategically and commercially aware

  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.

  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work

  • Qualifications 

  • Current CPA or EA qualification / ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA) OR

  • Masters degree in accounting or taxation (or equivalent);
