Reporting to the Materials Manager, you’ll provide technical leadership on relevant materials and technologies globally.
You will do this by developing, qualifying and specifying the varied types of relevant materials used on and in BAT products, managing, maintaining and driving compliance on all BAT mandated Materials Management Systems (MMS), and leading the global technical community for the relevant materials within BAT and ensure material processes, quality, performance, and cost are in line with group expectations.
You will develop and evaluate materials for the purpose of innovations, translate marketing concepts into viable new product propositions, drive and ensure effective commercialisation of all new global materials into the BAT portfolio and prioritise development activities according to strategic business requirements and needs. You’ll also provide support to first mover factories on relevant material related issues, process improvements and efficiencies, manage and develop relationships with new suppliers of novel technologies and materials. embed, monitor and ensure compliance to Global Materials Qualification Process (MQP), identify key development areas within global packaging and materials community in order to optimise service levels and educate and familiarise other technical team members and stakeholders on the key features of novel materials.
You will have degree level education or equivalent in a scientific discipline, substantial experience working for one or more multinational Brand owners delivering packaging and materials innovation, a strong track record of passion for packaging materials and the delivery of high quality solutions and experience of working in a regulated environment.
You will also have demonstrable experience of team direction and leadership in a matrix organisation, flexibility of approach to drive flawless execution of personal and project objectives, in-depth knowledge of development and qualification of novel materials and fluent English language skills.
