Role overview

VSO is currently recruiting for a Global Resourcing Adviser (volunteers) on a 12 month fixed term contract. As the postholder you'll effectively manage volunteer candidates as their one point of contact through the volunteer lifecycle, including pre-selection, selection and on boarding. You'll support the development of a framework for all countries not covered by current recruitment partners for the on boarding processes. 

You'll manage a pipeline of speculative volunteer applicants; highlighting existing opportunities they can apply to and proactively working with candidates with in-demand skills and ensuring VSO's recruitment system is accurately kept up to date. 

Relationship management is key to this position; both working with colleagues based globally in the Global Resourcing team and applicants shortlisted for volunteer positions. You'll ensure a high quality of engagement, being proactive with candidates regarding new opportunities and working closely with applicants throughout their volunteer lifecycle. 

You'll ensure VSO's selection processes are followed in line with the VSO behavioural competency framework and you'll manage candidates through the global selection process to our service level agreements. 

You'll manage pre-departure logistics, including compliance with security and medical clearance, visa and work permit requirements in line with global policy and procedures, plus other on boarding processes. You'll also ensure pre-departure payments are paid in a timely manner in line with VSO's policy. 

You'll ensure that all information is accurately recorded in VSO's Recruit system and reports created as required monthly and quarterly.


Skills, qualifications and experience required

You are a recruitment professional with experience of end to end recruitment (agency or in-house), plus excellent candidate management and on-boarding experience. You have knowledge of recruitment in an international context and within a complex organisation, plus experience using an applicant tracking system. You are highly organised with the ability to work in situations without guidelines or defined processes. You are a strong team player, have excellent oral and written communication skills and experience negotiating and influencing. You'll demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to the continuous improvement of data, customer care and business processes. Volunteer recruitment experience is desirable.
