Global Trading Client Management (GTCM) services clients with whom RBC principally has trading relationships. There are several thousand clients who transact with RBC across various divisions, including Fixed Income & Currencies, Equities, Global Equity Linked Products, and Global Arbitrage Trading. GTCM's role is to evaluate the risk within trading counterparties and ensure credit facilities are in place such that RBC can optimise trading opportunities. GTCM partners with sales and trading teams globally to understand client needs and identify cross sell opportunities and make introductions to other businesses. GTCM is based in London, New York, Toronto, and Hong Kong and covers four sectors: hedge funds; regulated/real-money funds such as asset managers, pension funds, endowments and mutual funds; banks; and corporates.
Play a key role in the management and administration of credit limits for RBC Investor & Treasury Services (ITS) trading business with asset managers, including mutual funds, UCITS, managed accounts, etc.
Support the development of trading credit transaction solutions proposed by managers (including structuring, amount and term) and provide assistance in the preparation of transaction requests.
Maintain relationships with ITS sales and trading professionals and asset management clients to ensure business needs are met on a timely basis and credit risks understood.
Ensure all credit limit systems are properly recording approvals and assist in the preparation of timely management information reports
Contribute to ongoing compliance requirements and special projects.
Preparation of trading credit transaction requests in support of ITS global trading activities with asset managers
Understand and assess risks inherent in (i) the asset management industry and its regulation, (ii) the sponsors and the markets they operate in, (iii) trading products and (iv) investment strategies
Develop and maintain relationships with ITS sales and trading professionals along with asset management clients in order to facilitate understanding of business requirements and credit risks
Develop and maintain relationships with risk management, global middle office and internal legal
Understand and assist in negotiation of trading documentation including ISDA and IFEMA
Maintenance and accuracy of trading limit data within all RBC limit management systems
Participate in due diligence calling program
Maintain a strong understanding of RBC trading policies and guidelines
Completion of assigned projects and other duties in an efficient and effective manner that supports business initiatives
Understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds
Familiarity and basic understanding of trading products including FX, swaps, securities finance, futures, prime brokerage, etc
Understanding of credit risk
Understanding of trading documentation
Advanced data and computer management skills including proficiency with Excel
Self starter with strong organizational and time management skills

Undergraduate degree in business, finance or economics
MBA/CFA an advantage
