Job Description

  • Develop legal frameworks capable of supporting the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial service to the Fund and support the Head Corporate Services and the Executive Secretary
  • Provide the Board with all requisite information, enabling them to discharge their functions in an effective manner
  • Organize Board meetings, AGMs, Board committee meetings for the Fund and provide custodian services for all documents requiring safe keeping
  • Coordinate drafting, vetting, interpretation and advise on agreements between the Fund and its stakeholders, letters, forms and other legal documents, and manage all litigation issues and processes for the Fund
  • Coordinate, monitor and ensure the organization's overall compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and provisions
  • Keep abreast of leading practices, changes in regulation and amendments to enabling laws and proactively advise the organization accordingly
  • Recommend the appointment/selection of the Fund’s solicitors and provide broad guidelines for defining the overall framework for managing the relationship between the Fund and its solicitors
  • Anticipate and guard against legal risks through the provision of qualitative legal advice
  • Provide advisory services to the board, management and all units of the Fund, interpret all statutory laws and guidelines from the legal perspective and liaise with necessary regulatory bodies as at when required

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Law, with a Post graduate degree or Professional certification in any law related discipline 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Sound experience in legal drafting, contracts review and negotiation
  • 7 years relevant experience in legal function role or 5years in a law firm
  • Good knowledge of the financial services landscape including regulation, legislation and operating environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mature and organized, having a good sense of judgment and discretion
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and interact professionally with all levels of management, staff and associates.
