Job Description

The role of the Head of Asset Management is to lead and manage the activities of the Asset Management team in Region North, to assess all aspects of risk associated with the management of assets from “cradle to grave”, to value equipment in order to set appropriate residual values, manage portfolios of assets and optimise end of lease sales/remarketing. Team will be based in UK and the Nordics and will have responsibility for generating non-interest bearing income through early termination, extension, sale in place and equipment disposal


To mitigate risks and exploit opportunities originating from the regional asset portfolio by planning, organising, directing and monitoring the team activities 
To lead equipment and market research in order to assess all aspects of risk associated with specific asset classes and their management from "cradle to grave" and reflect these in clear risk strategies and residual value setting guidelines 
To support new and to review existing vendor and third party programmes with asset management expertise 
To drive portfolio review processes and initiatives for mid-term activities with Sales, Risk Management and relevant third parties to maximise identified opportunities/mitigate possible risks during the life of the lease 
To establish and maintain equipment disposal routes and ensure equipment is purchased, returned and repossessed according to processes and guidelines, and that accurate records of sales, equipment stock, and lease status are maintained 
Provide monthly updates and quarterly review of portfolio performance and recommend any changes in approach to the Senior Asset Management board. 
Define and agree with direct reports an agreed approach to end of lease handling for the key sectors of business 
To collaborate closely with Senior Management concerning Residual Value Portfolio Review 
To collaborate closely with Senior Asset Management board in areas of equipment expertise, risk trends, to share local insights and seek best practice 
To comply with policies, processes, guidelines and authorities and provide appropriate commercial justification for local variances and interpretation as appropriate


Extensive experience in a similar function within leasing operations or in a procurement role in an equipment vendor.
Proven leadership and people management skills.

The ability to manage and motivate direct reports on site/remotely and across various countries is essential. 
Excellent interpersonal and communication at an operational, peer group and executive level 
IT/Office equipment and Yellow Metal asset expertise is essential 
Experience managing processes, procedures, pricing and structures of leasing business is required as well as a strong understanding of the P&L impact of asset management activities
