Role overviewLeads the development and implementation of VSO’s global Information Technology strategy and the International Information Technology (IIT) department to deliver a high quality, customer focused IT service. To be responsible for creating and maintaining a strategy for the provision of VSO-wide information Technology services and to identify and exploit technical innovations and opportunities that assist VSO in achieving its organisational objectives. Participate in VSO's annual planning process and engage with the IIT Steering Committee and other senior management to ensure the organisational alignment of IT priorities. To be accountable for IT security infrastructure resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery in London and Programme Offices. To lead on IT supplier management to ensure that all systems and services that are produced are efficient and of an acceptable quality.
Skills, qualifications and experience requiredA broad understanding of computer systems, international infrastructure, applications and operating systems. Proven senior Information Technology Management expertise in delivering large complex Information Technology projects, preferably internationally. Experience of maintaining a global IT management structure, budgetary experience of managing £1m+, managing multiple IT disciplines and negotiating with and managing third parties and suppliers.
