Job Description

Complete Ownership across following Islamic product lines:
SME: Trade & Working Capital, Program Lending, Transaction Banking, and Liabilities
Retail Products: Credit Cards, Personal Finance, Auto Finance, Mortgages, and Liabilities 

 Continuous Product and Customer Value Proposition development and enhancement

 Establishing leadership in the Islamic-friendly segments by packaging a superior Customer Value Proposition for the relevant segments
Employee Banking proposition
Personal and Preferred Segments

 Concentrated responsibility to work with product, segment, channel managers and support functions to build the current Islamic banking capabilities for a seamless customer experience

 Balance sheet and P&L management of SME Segment and Retail Products

 Active Risk Management of the Islamic Assets portfolio for all the SME & Retail product lines with direct engagement with Risk
Product construct to maximize RORWA and increase Capital efficiency
Align the Credit Policy for Islamic Products to balance risk reward equation
Review of Collections & Recovery/GSAM performance. 



 Develop product level strategies and align them with segment level strategies by packaging in distinct Islamic CVP in order to maximize profitability and creation of competitive advantage

Financial Performance Management:

 P&L and balance sheet management. Responsible for financial deliverables for Islamic SME & Retail
 Active management of top-line growth while keeping in check the Cost and Loan Impairment lines
 Monitor portfolio performance and involvement in formulation of credit policies
 Product construct to maximize RORWA and superior Capital management
 Review of Sales, Cost, and Collections & Recovery/GSAM performance

Product Lifecycle Management & Governance:

 Continuous Product development in line with Shariah Principals
 Competition benchmarking to ensure continued superior product capability
 Ensuring all Product Governance requirements are met in line with Global guidelines

CVP Implementation, Marketing, and Alliances:

 Obtain regular feedback from front line for better understanding of customer needs and development of the proposition along those needs
 Use of advanced analytics for continuous profitability analysis across segments to identify opportunities for market growth through product/CVP design and cross-sell/ increasing product holdings
 Act as the single point of contact for all product/segment/channel teams and Group Islamic Banking
 Develop and implement promotions and campaigns to improve the visibility of the Saadiq brand
 Drive business by close engagement with the origination teams and key partners like WB
 Seek Alliances to favourably position Saadiq brand in the market

Compliance & Risk Management:

 Ensure that relevant Compliance, Risk and Shariah policies are for these products are adhered to
 Manage and mitigate relevant operational, reputational and business risks
 Active monitoring of credit risk of Islamic Assets portfolio through analytics and policy review.


 University Graduate with a Masters degree in Finance and/or Business Management
 Minimum 7 years experience in banking. UAE market knowledge is preferred
 Experience in Commercial Banking and Program Lending is required as is the basic understanding of Islamic Banking. Exposure to Credit Cards, Mortgages, and Liabilities business would be a plus. As would be Capital and Risk Management
 Strong analytics ability is a requirement for portfolio management and P&L management
 Strong problem solving and project management skills. Demonstrated ability of innovative solutions
 Good understanding of financials e.g. variance analysis and projection of P&L
 Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
