Job Description

  • Lead and direct an integrated supply chain and logistics strategy in the Middle East region to facilitate efficient, reliable, timely and cost effective flow of Healthcare Diagnostics (H DX) products
  • Plan and execute tactical actions to optimize operations in Imports / Exports, Freight, Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Trade Compliance
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that strategies and activities integrate with other parts of the H DX business and align with overall corporate objectives while meeting customer expectations
  • Formulate the regional / country level integrated supply chain and logistics strategy, introducing new logistics concepts to enhance efficiency, by working closely with Country Heads, CFOs and Country Logistics Coordinators
  • Oversee the various aspects of planning, ordering, shipment, delivery, billing, stock control and distribution, ensuring all logistic requirements are met in an efficient, reliable and timely manner
  • Build and implement a logistics planning system vis-à-vis sales forecasts by country / product and develop MIS Reports for Executive Management for business and revenue planning
  • Solve operational problems / customer complaints and provide inventive solutions; develop and implement efficient systems and processes in the logistical planning and operational area by re-engineering processes and restructuring of the operations group as necessary; analyse, refine and improve logistics policies, procedures, manuals and tools – tailor by country / distributor / customer
  • Ensure that movement of products within periphery of logistics is compliant with a) export and import rules of Siemens and b) regulatory requirements of the country
  • Direct the implementation of IT (ERP) System and other system integration  projects for operational delivery excellence
  • Collaborate with distributors to a) oversee administration of contracts to guarantee quality of delivery, avoiding discrepancies, b) assess their logistics capacity and associated needs, c) give support for adherence to Siemens policies and procedures and ensure compliance to country specific regulations, and d) provide training where necessary
  • Ensure correct price settings, incorporate appropriate price checks and conduct internal price reviews as applicable per country / distributor
  • Participate in the development and submission of bids, tenders and proposals as required by Sales & Marketing
  • Provide encouragement, support and guidance to the operations team to improve morale, quality


  • Knowledge of ERP Systems, strong IT skills
  • Broad understanding of supply chain management and its components
  • Understanding of Siemens Export and Trade Compliance, Country-regulatory requirements and Quality Systems
  • In depth understanding of H DX complete product range, instruments and reagents
  • Project Management with the ability to structure projects and carry out project management processes
  • Strategic planning, leadership and change management – a positive attitude towards change and strong attention to detail
  • Analytical skills and problem solving; ability to anticipate issues and plan around them before they impact effectiveness
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 8 years working in Supply Chain Management in a complex corporate environment
  • Minimum 3 years experience in leading multi-functional teams
  • Fluent written and spoken English
