Job Description

•Proactive liaison with Service Line Leadership to fully understand the business drivers for deployment and the nature of the skill-sets required of successful individuals in the organization.
•Assesses and plan future resource requirements based on projected workflows, impact of pipeline, and levels of attrition, ensuring headcount and utilisation levels remain in line with budget and/or business performance, highlighting any issues to Service Line Leadership
•Review and assess regular Management Information and use this to influence business and Resourcing decisions escalating issues to leadership when necessary.
•Liaise with finance team to understand the impact of resourcing decision on financial results and headcount implications.
•Support EY growth plans and ambitions by driving initiatives into Resourcing decisions for example Flexible Working
•Lead and participate in Service Line Leadership meetings presenting accurate data to support business decisions
•Challenge requests from the business where necessary and influence individuals to ensure an appropriate response that meets the business goals.
•Build relationships with the Resource Management leaders in other Service Lines to understand how skills can be enhanced by cross Service Line working, and how to share resources to meet the business needs. Attend weekly calls to facilitate effective operation of Resource Management network for benefit of the Sub Area.
•Involvement in resource management decision for large and / or complex projects or where difficult issues arise that requires senior level intervention. Also, raise options for deployment for client service staff outside of the SL (e.g. internal / external secondments).
•Lead and coach a professional Resource Management team (14) 
•Lead and drive SL and UK&I wide projects
•Drive continuous improvements and process efficiencies through the Resourcing teams ensuring effective use of the CRT (Central Retain Team)


•Commitment and ability to work under pressure at peak times. Robust, resilient, calm and pragmatic under pressure. Proactive, organised and self-sufficient with ability to prioritise and multitask.
•Strong business acumen and financial awareness.
•Prepared to make considered decisions on staff mobility and to defend these robustly!
•Highly team orientated approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritise a number of conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines whilst maintaining a clear sense of direction.
•Strong influencing skills and the ability to challenge other people without harming the relationship.
•Experience of leading successful teams.
•Good understanding of professional service firms, ideally having worked in this environment already.
•Degree standard or equivalent with relevant experience in resource management.
