Job Description

  • The job involves providing operational leadership for all areas of operations including Retail Store Operations, IT, HR, Finance, MIS and the Sales Team.
  • Improving the organization’s market position and achieving significant (70% and above) financial growth.
  • Develop a Standard Operating Procedure for daily operations.
  • Provide a strategic blueprint to the long-term development of the business in areas such as revenue growth, operational improvements and optimization, and cost control mechanisms.
  • Develop and deliver sales budgets, forecast volume turnover and review all the key operations parameters periodically.
  • Development and implementation of Short & Long term Retail Strategy for business growth.
  • Solve and resolve problems that arise amongst staff or with customers as per questions of pricing, returns, and discounts. 
  • Oversee the smooth running of the Distribution Center; ensuring the right product is supplied in the right quantity at the right time to all shops. 
  • Prepare weekly sales update for sales operations executive meeting stating short-term goals, forecasts, traffic, applications and varied pertinent information.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions. That is, studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Supervise the staff on the shop floor (pharmacist, pharmacist Technicians) to improve output and efficiency in the service performance.
  • Provide a concise sales strategy, developing and executing the sales team’s Operational Plan. Define   and track sales targets, overseeing sales budgets and expenditure. Ensure that sales operations are conducted within the constraints of the departmental budget.
  • Strong leadership and direction to Sales, HR, Admin, IT and Warehouse and logistics teams (including training and development).
  • Building key customer relationships.
  • Identifying business opportunities, working with the internal team, marketing staff, and other branch managers to increase sales opportunities
  • Managing existing clients.
  • Expansion: Acquiring new location; conduct a feasibility study for all proposed location
  • Identifying trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking competitor and their accomplishments and ensuring the firm stays ahead.
  • Locating or proposing potential business deals by contacting potential partners.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions. That is, studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations i.e PSN, PCN.

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.Sc. in Social Sciences, Pharmacy or Sales related discipline. Masters degree would be an advantage. 
  • Must have minimum retail experience of 7 years in managerial position, 5 years as Head of Operations.
  • Must have a track record of significantly increasing the financial growth of company worked up to 70 %.
