This role primarily supports our business in developing and implementing the environmental health & safety management system (EHSMS), OSHA standards throughout the Group. You will work with the key business stakeholders to ensure the HSMS meets legislative and business objectives. You will provide specialist coaching and advice to all entities.
•To develop health and safety culture within Chalhoub and meet regulatory EHS requirements through the delivery of strategic direction and operational implementation.
•To ensure contractors, consultants and operators meet and maintain regulatory and Chalhoub HSE requirements on all sites under the control or influence of Chalhoub
•Communicate and reinforce HSE policy and requirements to consultants, contractors and operators, and lead by example in developing a strong site team safety culture.
•Conduct regular inspections of sites and operations to ensure safe working practices are implemented and followed, and hazards and risks appropriately managed to protect people property & environment.
•Identify non-compliance / conformance and liaise with managing consultant in issuing non-compliance and corrective action reports and following through to close out.
•Escalate concerns of a serious nature to the Security Operations Manager for attention.
•Compile monthly contractor/consultant/operator HSE performance report and forward to Security Operations Manager
•Participate in serious incident (including near miss) investigations in conjunction with consultants, contractors and operators.
•Review and provide feedback on contractor’s project specific health safety & environment (PHSEP) plans prior to consultant approval.
•Conduct 3 monthly audits of contractors PHSEP for conformance for the duration of the project.
•Attend and actively participate in site based progress and HSE meetings.
•Keep up to date with relevant HSE legislation and standards, particularly those that affect the construction, tourism & retail sectors.
•Provide advice support and training on HSE matters to Chalhoub Group site based staff.
•making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation

•keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
•ensuring the safe installation of equipment;
•keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers
•5+ Years EHS Management experience working at multiple sites
•Bachelor degree or above qualifications in related field
•Previous experience of successfully interacting with and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business with a proven ability to motivate others
•Independent travel (driver’s license required). Overnight stays will be required.
•5 + years in Crisis Management , Emergency management and Risk Management
