Seeking a full-time employee to be based in London who will join as an analyst on the investment team and will assist with a variety of due diligence-related tasks. Responsibilities will include directed investment research of hedge funds of various strategies and sub-strategies. Due diligence work will focus primarily on bottom-up research on hedge funds within the European region, a universe that will include both current and prospective investments. The individual will be expected to support the AIS team in London, and in that capacity to facilitate in all aspects of hedge fund analysis -- including but not limited to initial sourcing, tracking and monitoring of fund data, meeting preparation and documentation, and on-going monitoring. Verbal and written communications are essential tools for this work.
-Monitor hedge funds as directed by the investment team
-Coordinate communication from prime brokers and other 3rd parties with investment team
-Research current industry trends
-Support investment professionals with research using internal proprietary tools
-Assist in coordination and preparation for meetings with hedge funds
-Draft detailed reports including summary and analysis of investment meetings
-Perform critical data support as needed for targeted hedge funds that are imminent investment candidates
-Assist in monitoring performance measurement and quantitative performance measurement and quantitative risk management of investments
-Assist client relations function in gathering information that is communicated to investors on a regular and ad hoc basis.
-Perform regular monitoring of on-going investments
Requirements: Desire a candidate with finance or capital markets experience. A diligent, hardworking, self-motivated individual who is effective at working both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management internally and externally is a must.
Additionally, it is beneficial to have: -Experience in related field (hedge fund related experience a plus) -Proven research skills using a variety of research tools -Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines -Proven research skills including comfort with using the Internet as a research tool -Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must -Facility with market data systems a plus -Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
