Job Description

Job Purpose:

To act as a systems administrator for the HRIS (Cascade) and to act as a point of contact and provide general HR support  to  the  Malaria  Consortium HR  team,  focusing   on  UK  based  and   internationally  relocated employees. 


Key Accountabilities:

     Optimise the use of HRIS at a global level ensuring that data is accurately captured; undertake a variety of administration functions (including creation and maintenance of menus, tasks, screens, profiles, security elements and passwords etc); ensure screen configuration and development reflect country differences; set up and run standard reports

      Act as initial point of contact for the systems provider and as an internal support desk for HRIS queries

      Train UK based employees, HR focal points and Country Directors to use HRIS

      Act as first point of contact for day to day HR queries, policy interpretation, terms and conditions

      Support the development of the organisational learning and development culture; collate learning needs from appraisals, monitor and record training and development activities, capture and record financial data

      Prepare contracts, support general HR and benefits  administration and act as point of contact for medical insurance

      Hold HR inductions and overviews for new starters

      Produce the monthly payroll in respect of new starters and leavers and ensure accurate and timely completion

      Oversee the process for starters and leavers, including exit interviews

      Undertake market research and assist in the analysis of pay and benefit data

      Maintain accurate and up to date records and files for employees

      Produce KPI monthly reports and analysis; monitoring objectives, appraisals and turnover

      Ensure the effective communication of HR policies and processes including updating the Intranet

      Contribute to the development and   implementation of  robust  policies,  processes   and   systems  to enhance HR delivery

      Provide support on HR projects

      Any other reasonable duties as may be designated to the position from time to time 


Skills and Experience:



      Knowledge and experience of HR Management Information Systems, and ideally in supporting others to use HRIS

      Qualified in or working towards CIPD accreditation

      Experience in a HR support role; including preparation of contracts and supporting stakeholders

      Ability to maintain confidentiality of HR information

      Ability to use judgment to determine when to deal with a query to conclusion or when to pass to another member of the team

      Organised and methodical and with good attention to detail

      Willingness and ability to work within a multi-site, international organisation

      Customer focused with good interpersonal skills

      Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision

      Ability to deal with ambiguity and work towards a resolution

      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      Ability to analyse and interpret numerical data

      Excellent Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, Outlook




      Previous experience in using Cascade

      Previous experience of management reporting

      A degree in a HR related field

      Experience in the not-for-profit sector, ideally with an international focus

      Experience of supporting process improvement and design
