A reliable Human Resources Assistant is urgently needed to support the Human Resources Department. The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, scheduling new employee orientations and training and entering of a high volume of employment records into the Human Resources database.
Schedule interviews and phone screens, working directly with technical candidates and hiring managers, and in some cases arranging travel for visiting candidates.
Update candidate records in recruiting systems, meeting candidates during on-site interviews, keeping recruiters informed of candidate issues and providing follow-up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status via phone and email.
Track recruiting activities and providing candidate status reports to recruiter or human resources manager
Receive and field all incoming phone calls to the HR Department
Coordinate scheduling of post-interview, debrief meetings and provide debrief materials.
Collaborate with recruiter or human resources manager to ensure hiring team success by identifying opportunities for improving candidate experience and scheduling efficiency.
Assist in the coordination of other recruiting activities as needed
BSc/HND/OND in economics,human resources management, business administration or other related field
Proven work experience as Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Officer or similar roles
Excellent work ethics and desire to exceed expectations
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and with external candidates.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and in dealing with ambiguity
Good sense of accountability and acute personal judgment
Ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues when appropriate
