Job Description

Critical to this is a market-leading Brand, Communications and Marketing (BCM) function that is fully aligned to and supports EY’s new purpose, ambition, strategy and positioning. This is an exciting time to be a leader in EY’s transforming BCM team. 

The Strategy, Planning and Measurement Leader is a new and critical senior leadership role that has been created to help EY deliver against the vision for the future, which includes having the best brand. The role is accountable for: 

  • Setting the brand, communications and marketing strategy for service lines, sectors and digital globally;
  • Providing successful leadership, management and governance of the strategic planning and prioritization process;
  • Developing a global approach for measuring return on investment. 

    The role will oversee a team focused on developing the strategy; collaborating with leaders across BCM to develop and measure programs that target clients and influencers; and engaging our 170,000 people located in 29 Regions (140 countries) around the world. 

    The role will oversee the budget for service lines, sectors and digital as well as for measurement and will have overall responsibility for a number of global networks serving service line and sector BCM leaders globally. The position will be a core member of the BCM Leadership team and will hold key relationships with EY’s Senior Leadership team. The role will be required to build strong relationships and work extremely collaboratively across the BCM team. 

    Success in this role will be the delivery of clear and actionable brand, communication and marketing strategies that integrate service lines and sectors, that are relevant both globally and locally and that deliver sustainable, measurable results. Success will be measured through EY’s global brand survey, a media dashboard and analyst rankings. 
  • Responsibilities

  • Provides strong leadership and support to Senior Leadership to deliver against EY’s global strategy laid out under Vision 2020
  • Provides strong leadership in coordination with peers as well as working closely with the BCM Leader to drive performance goals of improving service delivery, quality and cost efficiency of the function
  • Leads a collaborative and creative process for integrated strategic planning and measurement across the BCM function and plays a leadership role to create a best-in-class BCM function
  • Works in close collaboration across the BCM community to gain input for the integrated strategic planning and prioritization process in order to create a plan that strengthens EY’s global footprint while being relevant locally and at the Region level
  • Oversees the development of service line and sector BCM strategy and seeks to integrate across service lines and sectors globally
  • Develops a comprehensive digital strategy for EY internally and externally, leveraging the latest technologies and best practices in marketing and communications
  • Leads market and competitor research activities as an input to the integrated strategic planning and prioritization process across the BCM organization
  • Oversees ROI measurement of brand, communications and marketing activities to inform strategic planning and BCM investment decisions
  • Manages and engages talent across the Integrated Strategy, Planning and Measurement team
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders while supporting and enabling a network of Executive and Regional Integrated Strategy, Planning and Measurement teams
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders while supporting and enabling a network of Executive and Regional Service Line and Sector BCM Leaders
  • Develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization
  • Holds budgetary and financial management responsibilities for service lines and sectors
  • Establishes goals for the Integrated Strategy, Planning and Measurement team and pursues assignments that are related to higher-level, strategic long-term objectives
  • Takes an organizational-level view of implications; manages competing forces and drives understanding, motivation and stakeholder value
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on brand, communications and marketing issues, trends and long-term implications for EY

  • Supervision Responsibilities: 

    Responsible for the performance of the Integrated Strategy, Planning and Measurement team of approximately 25 people as well as a broad network of service line and sector BCM Leaders across the world. Motivates team through effective monitoring, coaching, counseling and provides a positive working environment. 

    Responsible for leading and managing the following areas globally: 

  • Service line and sector brand, communications and marketing
  • Integrated strategic planning, research and measurement
  • Digital strategy 

    Other Requirements: 

    There are currently no restrictions on where this role can be based. 
    Global travel will be required pending business needs. 

    Job Requirements: 


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent area of study)

  • Experience: 

  • Substantial brand, communications and marketing experience in a world-class global organization

  • Experience of setting strategy within a people organization with proven and demonstrable results

  • Experience leading strategy and measurement initiatives within a multinational environment

  • Experience leading and managing large, diverse and virtual high-performance teams
