Job Description

The successful candidate will provide central Paradigm interpretation support including helping our new users get started with the software, consulting, project deployment assistance and problem resolution support. The person will coordinate with Technical Computing co-located support, Earth Science Department, Reservoir Engineering, and Next Gen deployment team to provide support for the new Paradigm Rock & Fluid Canvas 2009 | Epos 4 including SeisEarth, VoxelGeo, Stratimagic, Gocad, SKUA, and StratEarth. Some domestic and international travel may be necessary for this position.


  • Apply understanding of interpretation workflows and technology to analyze and solve application problems. Help users to perform 2D and 3D volume interpretation, amplitude analysis, mapping, time/depth conversions, and seismic synthetic creation and well correlation in the framework tools. This will primarily be in a Paradigm EPOS 4 Canvas environment. 
  • Uses strong technical knowledge and relevant experience providing application support for G&G applications (Epos, Petrel, OpenWorks/SeisWorks , OpenSpirit, and Gocad are primary vendor applications) and data necessary to provide successful and reliable support. 
  • Depending on the task, may be responsible for overseeing small projects. Applies project management skills, manages multiple tasks at a time and applies change and release management processes.
  • Uses strong interpersonal and communication skills while providing technical leadership role for the support of Epos. Prepares written documentation.
  • Works as part of a central team to support the exploration technical software and data environment. Assist co-located support team members and embedded business unit support to solve advanced problems.
  • Mentor national employees and develop training plans.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) is required. Geology or Geophysics preferred, Engineering and Computer Science beneficial, depending on experience
  • Expert knowledge with the Paradigm interpretation tools in an Epos framework is required
  • Knowledge in OpenWorks, Petrel interpretation, and OpenSpirit would be of benefit
  • Capable of developing new workflows with earth scientists.
