Our focus is on delivering the highest quality broadband and telephony network, enabling Sky to offer the best broadband and voice products in the market   The IP Network Development team undertakes design, improvement and expansion of the fully resilient, secured and scalable Sky Overlay IP Network within the framework of the SNS network strategy. This role provides expert knowledge in carrier class core networks for product evaluation, design and testing to support highly available services on the MPLS based core IP platform.   As an IP Security Engineer you will be part of a new team put together to ensure speed and quality of solutions delivered in to the BSkyB Broadband and Enterprise IP networks.   You will be required to work closely with the IP Development Engineers to understand the proposed design and/or test requirements. You will test, analyse and conclude on findings providing feedback for consultation with the IP Development Engineer. In addition you may be required to troubleshoot, remedy and optimise where possible the system or device under test to meet performance criteria as defined in the high level design.   As the IP Security Engineer you will be heavily involved in the planning and initial commissioning of solution in to the production network and conduct knowledge transfer via various deliverables for handover in to the Operations teams. You will also be required to provide on-going engineering support for the platform for the entire lifecycle of the platform when needed.   To be successful in this role experience of working within the telecommunications industry would be highly beneficial. You must have knowledge of ISP Security and its approach, policy and architecture. You will have a CCSP and preferably a CCNP qualification or equivalent. You must be Security Check eligible. Knowledge in the following specialist areas is desirable:
  • Stateful & stateless ACLs
  • Firewall capabilities and limitations
  • AAA
  • BGP, IS-IS
  • Computer/Scripting Language
  • Testing of security hardware
