Job Description

bout the Role:

We are currently seeking a talented Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational support to ensure that the Food & Beverage department operate successfully and are individually profitable in accordance with the standards of the hotel.

The main duties for the role will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Assists in the coordination of organisational and administrative functions in all areas of the Food & Beverage Department.
  • Assists in planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures to ensure that service standards are met.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control
  • Ensure that the departmental objectives are cascaded to the colleagues.
  • Carries out assignments and instructions as delegated by the Director of Food & Beverage ensuring that all company and hotel policies and procedures and minimum standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Assists in the coordination of special promotions and provides administrative support necessary.
  • Interacts with management of other department within areas of responsibility and develops solid working relationships with them
  • Participates in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image and profitability of the hotel.
  • Assists in the development of ideas and the increased department sales of Food & Beverage to improve productivity.
  • To assist each Outlet Managers in the planning and implementation of effective sales and promotional activities to ensure maximum revenue.
  • Assists in building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their training, development, safety and welfare.
  • Participates in training and development programs to improve personal or departmental standards liaising with the Training Manager.
  • Deputises in the absence of the Director of Food & Beverage.


About You:

In order to be considered for this role, the successful candidate is likely to have the following qualifications, education & experience:

  • Graduate calibre with a Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management. 
  • Minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a large Food & Beverage department of a luxury deluxe hotel
  • Knowledge in wine, od world and new world
  • Proven track record in successfully launching new concepts
  • High level of written and verbal Business English
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook is essential
  • Experience with financial budgeting is desirable.
