Job Description

We are currently seeking a Key Account Design Chef (m/f) who is responsible for managing one of our airline customers from the Middle East exclusively in all culinary aspects worldwide. You represent LSG Sky Chefs in cooperation with the Sales & Services department. You develop airline menus and food products according to our customer's specifications taking into account LSG Sky Chef’s standards, new industry trends and cost considerations. In addition, you oversee the quality performance for the customer in all LSG Sky Chefs locations.


Your main responsibilities in more detail:

  • Liaise and ensure alignment – in co-ordination with the LSG Key Account Manager – with the customer’s menu design team to create and develop menus and food products and implement new industry trends
  • Work together with local menu presentation teams to translate the airline’s brand values into innovative new menus and products building on latest trends in food and technology
  • Take part in or lead customer’s menu presentations at LSG Sky Chefs´ locations and support local menu presentation teams with technical expertise in design and service concept
  • Provide culinary training about customer’s requirements to local Chefs and menu developers
  • Develop recipe specifications, develop food products and airline menus taking into account feasibility in operations, ensure the continuous optimization of products
  • Monitor standards of hygiene, health and safety as well as HACCP standards in the menu design, conduct regular quality checks at customer’s LSG Sky Chefs locations and create action plan if neededExecute “design to cost” principles
  • Ensure the internal communication and implementation of new food products and airline menus
  • Keep yourself up to date regarding industry trends, food and production technologies


  • Apprenticeship or Certification from culinary school and at least 3 years of airline industry experience
  • Working experience as an educated Chef in multicultural environments
  • Excellent knowledge of Arabian cuisine (preferably Lebanese) as well as international cuisine
  • In depth knowledge of Halal processes and products
  • Good understanding of airline catering industry requirements (cook & chill, HACCP, GQS)
  • Strong customer service attitude and very good communication skills
  • Basic financial understanding and cost consciousness
  • Social competence/ team player
  • Fluent English verbal and written, Arabic is a plus
  • Ability to extensive worldwide travel (approx. 70%)
