Job Description

To oversee, manage, review and monitor all Electrical related work performed as part of the Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP). The bulk of the work will be performed by FEED and EPC Contractors. Role will also include leading other Electrical Engineers and Designers as may be needed in performance of the work.

Long-term to integrate into the E&C Electrical department as a senior engineer involved in FEEDs, designs, and PMC type projects.


Lead an independently team of Engineers and Designers within discipline as necessary to perform the work;
Ensure effective communications and co-ordinations between all ELECTRICAL team members and all other disciplines, to ensure mutual awareness of requirements and sharing of information and common resources;
Monitor overall productivity and efficiency of the project, forecast trends and anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget within the ELECTRICAL discipline, coordinate with project team including all disciplines to resolve problems;
Implement and maintain productivity targets for the ELECTRICAL team members, including monitoring of overtime and budgeted man hours;
Conduct routine meetings with ELECTRICAL team to monitor the projects’ performance and assess their performance;
Prepare an estimate of required man hours along with supporting documentation for ELECTRICAL activities and or any change orders;
Implement staffing development plans and assign staff to specific project activities;
Identify additional project staff needs and coordinate with the Electrical department to resource the needs as appropriate; support and enhance the technical expertise of ELECTRICAL team members to suit the project needs, perform evaluations of ELECTRICAL team member.
Perform and or coordinate all technical reviews of Contractor submitted Electrical deliverables. Delegate review responsibilities to subject matter experts as necessary. Coordinate, review, and consolidate all ELECTRICAL review comments.
Review, provide inputs/comments on other discipline drawings and documents;
Respond to technical queries during the Contractor tender periods. Review and Input during the tender evaluation for the selection of FEED & EPC Contractors.
Active participation in the various design reviews, workshops (HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, 3 D modeling, etc) and optimization studies.
Provide clarifications, technical inputs for the Contractor queries & requests.
Liaise with the COMPANY and provide Operation and Maintenance related inputs to the Contractor.
Provide review and inputs to resolve the technical issue, and change orders raised by the Contractor.
Ensure the application of correct standards in the design and development of Project deliverables.
Ensure effective communication and co-ordination with other peers, all disciplines, and project management team.
Forecast trends anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget.


A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

15+ years of experience in professional electrical engineering, involving design, planning, checking, general management and supervisory responsibility in oil & gas industry

Must have worked at least 10 years as Engineer in an Oil & Gas or water related EPC or Consultancy Organization performing Electrical designs

Demonstrated experience as a Lead Electrical engineer; managing a project team of electrical engineers and designers.

Has clearly demonstrated strong engineering competence, interpersonal / team building skills & leadership skills

Thorough knowledge of safety requirement, industry practices, codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering

Working knowledge in specialized electrical works such as HV/LV Switchgears, GIS, Switchyard, Over Head Transmission Lines, Cable Routing, Transformers, Capacitor Banks, Earthing & Lightning Protection, Lighting System and Hazardous Area Classification

Hands on experience in industry software, such as ETAP / EDSA / Power Tools, Smart Plant Electrical, 3D Model Review Tools (SPR & NavisWorks), Chalmlite, MS Office Suite, etc.

Should have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) essential for Client, Interdisciplinary, Vendor, and Contractor coordination.
