Job Description

The Lead Reservoir Engineer works on projects to evaluate acquisition opportunities. The main focus is on production and development projects but also includes discoveries awaiting development from time to time. The Lead Reservoir Engineer works closely with the other Business Development team leads (geology, facilities, commercial, economics) and will usually take on the project management role to co-ordinate the efforts of the technical evaluation team which will typically be made up of a combination of internal staff and external consultants. 
You are an experienced, commercially aware, practising Reservoir/Petroleum Engineer capable of dealing with the majority of reservoir/petroleum engineering issues that would be expected to arise during the course of a typical production/development acquisition evaluation. You should be able to quickly identify the critical drivers of a project, and know when additional support is required to address them. You must be capable of working to (sometimes multiple) strict deadlines, and be confident representing the company in a role which is often outward facing. 


•As part of the business development team, help screen the numerous acquisition opportunities arising through the marketing of upstream assets by banks, direct negotiations with JV partners and through pro-active business development efforts, including own networks 
•Recommend, and either carry out, or supervise work plans covering the reservoir/petroleum engineering aspects of acquisition evaluation projects; manage 3rd part consultant teams as necessary
•Co-ordinate the efforts of other evaluation team members as required and steer the work through Premier’s Peer Review process.
•Provide reservoir/petroleum engineering input for Investment Papers sent to Executive Committee and/or the Board in respect of potential acquisitions;
•Identify suitable candidates for projects consistent with Premier’s North Sea strategies, including, but not limited to unmanned platform technology and area developments based around FPSOs 
•Participate in functional reviews of other projects around the company
•Provide ad hoc reservoir engineering support to the Exploration group
•The generation of original and imaginative ideas to identify potential upside with respect to acquisition opportunities
•Preparation of summary reports outlining the key reservoir/petroleum engineering aspects of acquisition opportunities
•Generation of appropriate reserves estimates and production profiles for use in economic evaluations
•Preparation of material for Peer Review
•Assistance with the preparation of Investment Papers
