Job Description

The Leasing Specialist will be responsible for expanding leasing services globally. This position will require knowledge of real estate and business practices, diversities and cultures in various international markets that Chevron conducts business. 


  • Works independently in executing activities for lease acquisition and disposition projects (office, warehouse, and surplus facilities) in the EMEA region 
  • Works with CBRES (Chevron Business and Real Estate Services) Portfolio Strategy and the local Chevron operating companies (Opcos) to ensure real estate strategies meet business needs for the region
  • Negotiates competitive business terms, landlord services, leasehold improvements, and special requirements to ensure Chevron receives flexible leases and a competitive market rate
  • Reviews and interprets lease documents, providing counsel and guidance to CBRES, corporate departments and Opcos 
  • Develops and negotiates solutions to complex disputes with other parties such as landlords, subtenants, etc.
  • Develops and maintains external relationships with lease brokers and landlords for Chevron's leased properties worldwide
  • Identifies and negotiates consultant contracts with real estate brokers, architects and contractors
  • Locates appropriate office space and negotiates lease agreements for the corporation and all of its subsidiaries
  • Partners with in-house legal counsel to negotiate all lease documents
  • Coordinates leasing activities in accordance with Chevron Policies 
  • Leads project teams composed of Opco representatives, architects, construction contractors and brokers responsible for lease acquisitions and dispositions
  • Provides up-to-date market information for the various geographical areas of Chevron's operations
  • Provides expert counsel to CBRES, corporate departments, and Opcos on real estate services
  • Works directly with operating company management to provide real estate services that promote productivity and profitability 
  • Champions the use of Chevron's Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) to improve decision quality and implementation of lease projects
  • Coordinates project look backs and the sharing and implementation of best practices across the real estate team 
  • Establishes relationships with brokers and other experts and nurtures existing ones with key Opco and corporate customers in support of future business-development opportunities for CBRES
  • Maintains current knowledge of real estate issues through national and international organizations to understand future trends that may affect Chevron in all markets where it operates
  • Prepares and estimates, budgets, and schedules for leasing projects
  • Analyzes cost and provides alternative strategies for managing the total cost of ownership for leasing projects
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Real Estate (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years established experience in managing and leading commercial real estate lease projects and related fields of real estate 
  • Professional certifications such as: RICS, CoreNet, BOMA, IFMA or CCIM would be beneficial 
  • Thorough understanding of corporate real estate principles, with an emphasis on those related to coordinating office leasing projects
  • Excellent client relationship building skills with an ability to communicate and engage at all levels
