As an experienced MAM Support Engineer, your role within the team will be to ensure that high quality proactive maintenance and reactive support is provided for the MAM Systems on which all Sky’s business depends, including production, across the UK and Europe. As part of the Broadcast Support function, this role is at the cutting edge of the convergence between traditional broadcast and IT cultures. This is a key position and will involve close collaboration with key Sky business areas, Sky Production Services, Platform Control, Projects and Design functions within the Broadcast Services division. You will also be the key point of contact for Stakeholders in the Tapeless domain and will be responsible for proactively engaging with them to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. The MAM and its associated file-based systems will provide digital video editing, storage, transcode and distribution to all platforms using in house developed system architecture and third party applications.
You will be a Media Asset Management systems expert with experience in commercial software deployment and support along with the ability to demonstrate a specific contribution to a number of successful projects. Desiring your Broadcast IT experience, it’s essential for you to bring Java J2EE, MULE ESB, UNIX/Linux experience, ideally along with Ardome MAM and Intalio Business Process / Workflow Management. You will have indepth understanding of the technical elements of broadcast production and associated platforms and interfaces:
- Video Ingest & Encoding,
- Linux (Red Hat)
- TCP/IP Networking
- All major file transfer protocol
- Spinning disk & Archive Tape Storage
