Job Description

The purpose of the role is  the  development , management  and continuous  communication of the  Airport wide  Health & Safety Assurance   throughout  the  Corporate Dubai international and Al Maktoum International Airports at all units  through a  planned compliance audit, ORAT process, promote  and implement a  robust OHSE culture  and  check effective implementation of  these program and  process  through monitoring by Key Performance  Indicators(KPI)  Analysis within Dubai Airports. The jobholder ensures that all activities within Dubai Airports are performed in compliance with relevant international and local Occupational, Health, Safety Environment (OHSE), Dubai Airports Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations and Fire Standards.


The jobholder should have a high level of managerial skills and a high degree of decision-making ability.  Experienced in interfacing with jurisdictional authorities and similar regulatory bodies. Working knowledge of the hazards presented by industrial work environments including process systems and components, machine tools and heavy equipment.


 -Lead Auditor Training in Occupational Safety Health Assessment Series (OSHAS) 18001.

-Hazardous Operatability Studies (HAZOP)

-ICAO Annex 14.

-Risk Assessment & Environment Impact Assessment Studies (RA & EIA)

-Accident investigation & analysis.

-Document writing and editing skills



The job holder should have a sound working knowledge of Health & Safety, Environment, Food Hygiene   and Public Health standards and best practice including some or all of the following:

  • OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001 Standards
  • NFPA Life Safety Code 101
  • ICAO & GCAA Regulations
  • Food hygiene standards like Codex Alimetarius, DM Food Control Section – HACCP Guidelines  for Food Manufacturing Guidelines 2005 etc
  • UAE regulations, code of practices and other appropriate regulations
  • Ground handling safety
  • Public Safety in large/high occupancy spaces
  • Construction/contractor safety management

 The job holder should have knowledge of good engineering practice within a busy environment along with knowledge of airport practices such as rules and regulations.  Must be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of the importance and effective application of a structured compliance management system, also basic industrial hygiene knowledge in areas such as hazardous chemicals, noise, heat stress, confined space entry, construction safety, dangerous goods and personal protective clothing and equipment (PPE&C).


Qualifications and Education:

 The jobholder should be a certified Industrial Occupational Health & Safety Professional from a reputed technical college. Hold membership of a professional Safety organisation and educated to at least Bachelor degree or Diploma level in Engineering (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering). Experience of operating at senior management level within a compliance and/or envionrmentally aware culture may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualification.



 The jobholder should have  at least  08  years health and safety experience, with applied knowledge in the areas of industrial hygiene, emergency response, training, loss control, compliance auditing, contractor management , occupational health , Industrial Safety, Life Safety, Fire Safety, Safety Management Systems, Aerodrome safety, Occupational Safety and Environment or related disciplines. The jobholder should have a very good command of English as well as, good leadership skills and inter-personal skills. Should be self-motivated and should be able to work under pressure.
