Principally, position holder will have huge responsibility to oversee technical contractor(s) saddled with the responsibility of technically manage the company’s fleet of offshore vessels to ensure 90% availability. Holder will make huge input into negotiation and procurement of vessels, make and provide technical advice on vessel acquisition, maintenance planning for the fleet, procurement and expediting of parts, contract management, spare part identification, recruitment, training, discipline. Holder will oversee the operation of the vessels, ensuring that they are operated safely, economically and efficiently maintained to a standard that allows them to fulfill operational requirements of the clients, organization, charter parties and/or other stakeholders. Holder will conduct regular unannounced spot checks of the fleet of vessels for inspections and audits. Holder will be required to prepare relevant reports for the Directors and in readiness for any inspection, or items arising from inspections to ensure any actions arising are followed up and closed out accordingly.
This role is responsible for all operational aspects and budgetary control of the company’s fleet of at least 14 vessels up to perhaps as many as 30+ vessels
HND/Bachelors degree in marine engineering with at least combined 12 years experience in technical and management of large fleet of vessels used for different offshore operations – DP Vessels, Supply Vessels, work barges, accommodation barges.
