JOB SUMMARYThe Incumbent will hold the Marketing & Product Development position, with direct line authority and responsibility to identify market based business opportunities and translates them into products/ services as key to the value generation in the business.Importantly the incumbent will also lead the design and implementation of allthe Marketing strategies to achieve the business goals for all products. The Marketing & Product Development Manager is expected to provide leadership within the organization in order to ensure timely and successful development and implementation of product/service ideas, key to the business performance and growth. In this capacity, the incumbent will directly supervise all staffin charge of product development and marketing implementation, while working in team with the Sales staff and in collaboration with branch staff to ensure successful execution of designated strategies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Business development & Marketing strategy Assess the market size and do marketsegmentation in order to identify and project sizable market opportunities for the business. Permanently practice “Customer understanding” analysis and market intelligence activitiesso as to identify unmet needsof target customers, to be translated into successful financial products andservices. Product Development & Product Management As a critical part of the Value OfferDevelopment, the incumbent must supervise the Product Analyst in all activitiespertaining product line. Specifically, Work permanently on improvingexisting savings and loan products to adapt them to potentially increasingcompetition, or customer demands, making sure that those products meet businessstrategy and profitability requirements. Brand Image and CommunicationAs a critical part of the Value OfferDevelopment, the incumbent must supervise the External Communications Officerand Internal Communications Officer in activities pertaining to AMFB’s brandand product advertising and other communications (both external and internal).Specifically. Management & Supervision-Supervise the Product Analyst, External Communications Officer and Internal Communications Officer in their respective roles of implementing all activities of marketing strategies andtactics to support the commercial performance of the business.-Ensure efficiency and high qualitywork of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 8 years of work experience. Direct experience in Marketing & Product development, and preferably also in Sales and commercial functions. Preferably, experience in Marketing for Banking or in financial sector At least 4 years in management positions Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics orrelated area of study. Experience in commercial strategic planning and budgeting Master concepts, processes and tools of marketing planning and Marketing implementation. Experience in communications, advertising and if possible PR. Knowledge of low income market Deadline oriented. Dependability, requiring minimum supervision. Strong leadership and people management skills. Sound strategic thinking, business sense and market sense Strong analytic skills. Excellent communication skills. Willingness to live in Nigeria for the duration of the contract. Commitment to the social mission of microfinance
