Job Description

To help provide long-term, safe energy solutions for a fast-growing population by collaborating with the international community to build a clean, environmentally friendly, civil nuclear power program for the United Arab Emirates. The Nuclear Performance Improvement Head will supervise assigned aspects of Nuclear Performance Improvement (NPI), making certain they are implemented in accordance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure ENEC is a self-critical, learning organization through the implementation of the following continuous improvement programs; Culture of Safety, Corrective Action, Self-Assessment, Benchmarking, Human Performance, and Construction and Operating Experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise implementation and assessment of the ENEC NPI program elements.

Manage the effective achievement of NPI's objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.

Mentor the NPI staff; developing the knowledge and skills which are necessary for them to effectively implement the various continuous improvement programs.

Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy and maximize their effective performance.

Develop, maintain, and supervise implementation of the ENEC continuous improvement programs (Corrective Action, Self- Assessment, Benchmarking, Human Performance, and Construction & Operating Experience)

Report to management on ENEC's continuous improvement performance.

Prepare and recommend the development of department budget, and monitor financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment.

Lead the effective achievement of organization's objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.

Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.

Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists whit building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.

Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships.

Train, mentor, and/or provide assistance to various ENEC departments in their implementation of the NPI continuous improvement programs to ensure these programs are integrated into the respective department's core business so that ENEC is a self-critical, learning organization.

Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, by delivery of the HSE Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Requirements

BS degree or equivalent experience.

At least 6 years of supervisor - level experience in the nuclear industry.

Strong background in the implementation of performance improvement programs.

Experience in causal analysis, including root cause analysis.
