Job Description

Job Location is Makati, Manila

• Exists to develop and implement policies, and programs on safety, health, environment and security aimed at protecting people and assets in the Plants and Makati Office.
• Forms and spearheads related committees such as PLASSHCOM (Plant) and MOSSHCOM to create the structure, develop programs and coordinate activities for accident prevention, safety training, health promotion and emergency response.
• Guides the Plant Manager in securing all necessary and required/mandated government permits, license to operate, approvals as regards, safety, health and work standards.
• Administers the regular monthly inspection and annual maintenance program of fire extinguishers, hoses, cabinets, sprinkler systems and other fire detection and suppression system in the Plants and Makati Office through the assigned personnel to ensure reliability of tools in compliance to government regulations. 
• Conducts Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Audit as well as workplace surveys and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions such as exposures to fire and explosion, typhoon & flood, earthquake, tsunami, falling aircraft, noise, chemical, indoor air quality, light levels, confined space, ventilation etc. and to establish the adequacy of loss control measures including existing policies and procedures. 
• Develops awareness campaign through seminars, formal and creative information dissemination methods and materials such as circulars, signage’s, posters, competitions, trainings, Tool Box Talk (TBT) and the like.
• Submits to Management related recommendations for continuous improvement of existing programs/structure based on actual situation and latest development in the area. 
• Represents the company in government and non-government sponsored conventions and seminars; liaises with these agencies and submits regular reports that may be required by the same on health, safety, environmental protection and others; keeps abreast of developments in the field and maintains knowledge of all applicable government standards and administrative practices as they relate to existing ordinances, regulations and laws.
• Keeps records of the safety function, including documents filed (e.g. inspection and injury report) with pertinent municipal and national government agencies; collects, analyzes and interprets accident statistics and prevention activity data; maintains training records and assembles injured worker data, frequency of accidents and their classification, etc.
• Participates in accident investigation and assists management in determining the causes of the accidents; recommends appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborates with allied groups such as Purchasing, Mechanical, Production and Engineering to effectively direct effort to maintain and improve safety and health conditions within the plant. This includes participation in the planning and implementation of all engineering projects including those involving the contractors.
• Implements and monitors compliance of all company rules and regulations, environmental and safety policies in and around the work place and ensures compliance to all housekeeping policies.
• Conducts security risk assessments in coordination with Plant Managers, Insurance Managers, Purchasing and other relevant functional heads as basis for policies, program to be implement in the corporation. 
• Reviews Security Manual and recommends improvement for approval by the EXCOM. Conducts visits on all Plants to ensure compliance.
• Provides expert advice to Plant Manager and HRAD Manager on security management.
• Monitors compliance to the Security Policies and Procedures by employees.
• Identifies threats and recommends risk prevention measures.
• Prevents losses due to pilferage by determining and recommending safeguards through security preventive and detective controls. 
• Reviews all contracts with Security Agencies and recommends terms and conditions that protect the interest of the company.
• Oversees implementation of Security Contracts and evaluates performance of Security Agencies.
• Orients Security Personnel on Security Policies and Procedures.
• Participates in administrative investigations involving violations of security policies.
• Facilitates on-the-job training for plant managers, responsible personnel on security as well as education campaign for all employees.
• Establishing a Business Continuity Program (BCP) as part of emergency preparedness to ensure that critical operations continue to be available to customers.


• Age range 45 years old and above with a minimum of 5 years total with 2-3 years of managerial experience in the field.
• BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineer graduate
• With established network with Association of Safety Practitioners Inc. (ASPI) and related organizations.
• Certified Safety Practitioner
• Training on Security Management 
• Others: Certification on Pollution Control and Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training
