The candidate would be responsible for leading the following three groups:
Asset Mangement Planning - using a wide range of asset management techniques such as investment planning, whole life costing, deterioration modelling, maintenance prioritisation and/or optimisation techniques, etc.
Asset Systems – including Systems Engineering, requirements capture, RAMS, etc,
Safety Assurance - Implementation of safety and assurance practices across diverse disciplines such as signalling, operations, electrification, p-way and cable routes, stations, civils, structures, stakeholder management.
Management of the combined groups P&L.
Responsibility for ensuring bids are produced correctly, in-line with corporate governance and then, when secured, the work is delivered in the most efficient and effective way by supporting the teams in resource allocation, client liaison and so forth. Whilst not necessarily directly responsible for the commercial management of the jobs, this role will retain the accountability, the the Rail Solutions Director Midlands, North West, Scotland and Asset Management.

Use/Development of prioritisation/optimisation decision support tools
This person will also be expected to contribute to the Midlands, North West, Scotland and Asset Management senior management team, to guide the business and inform strategy etc.
A degree (or equivalent) is essential, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
If not already Chartered, the candidate will be registered with a recognised institution and will have a plan in place for obtaining Chartership.
Proven experience of Asset Management and/or Safety Assurance practices.
Preferably, significant experience of the UK rail industry.
Demonstrable awareness of investment planning, whole life costing, deterioration modelling, maintenance optimisation, risk and reliability analysis techniques - that can be readily applied to the rail and highway infrastructure sectors.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Project and Business Management techniques.
Demonstrable experience of managing (and preferably leading) a diverse, medium sized team.
Excellent inter-personal skills and a high standard of spoken and written English supporting our requirement to produce high quality written material and make presentations to clients.
