Job Description


Our client a ship management company located in Lagos with branches in Portharcourt and Warri seeks for the services of a smart operations manager with the following:

§ Coordinate logistics of supply of items to customers
§ Manage third party relationship for organization’s benefit.
§ Manage import relations for prompt delivery.
§ Ensure staff training and development as aligned to organizational goals.
§ Investigate availability and suitability of options for new businesses.
§ Carry out Calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
§ Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives.
§ Direct and plan essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.

§ Procurement and contract management.
§ Health and safety and Security.
§ Risk management
§ Organizational management and effectiveness.


  • § BSC/HND in Environmental sciences, Business Management, Health and Safety
    § MBA/ post graduate qualifications and Professional certificates and membership will provide a strong advantage.
    § 6 years cognate experience
    § Experienced in leading/managing a team and in operations management.

    § Ability to manage cost while attaining desired result.
    § Ability to relate and communicate with different individuals including representing company during meetings.
    § Ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate logistics and operations.
    § Ability to demonstrate leadership and vision in managing staff.
    § Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
    § Budget development and oversight experience.
    § Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment.
    § Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.
    § Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
    § Delegate responsibilities effectively
    § Proficiency with MS Office word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, internet and e-mail.

    § Strong background and work experience in facility management.
    § Knowledge of contract management.
    § Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
