Job Description

Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager the Operations Team Leader (Marine) is an integral part of the offshore leadership team, responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations and in providing supervision, guidance & work direction to the installation Marine and Process Operations Teams.


The successful candidate will ideally have FPSO or Crude Oil Tanker Operations Leadership experience and will have substantial experience of the following Marine Systems and Equipment:

  • Vessel Stability & Ballast Control Systems
  • Station Keeping & Mooring Control Systems
  • Crude Oil Storage & Offloading Systems
  • Inert Gas Generation Systems

    Awareness and knowledge of the following Processing Systems and Equipment is preferred, however not essential as this is a marine focussed role within the FPSO Leadership team. Training and development will be given to candidate's who do not have significant exposure to Processing Operations if they have substantial marine experience. 

  • Oil & Gas Separation
  • Produced Water Management
  • Heating Medium Systems & Fired Heaters
  • Utility Systems (Cooling Water / Air / Diesel / Chemicals)

    Other duties & responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Statutory Legislation & Company Standards, Procedures & Safe Work Practices.
  • Manage, control and audit work activities via ISSOW / PTW System.
  • Perform Emergency Response Duties and direct ER Teams during drills / incidents.
  • Conduct Performance Management reviews with staff and identify training & development requirements.
  • Requirements

  • Significant experience in a Marine Leadership or FPSO Operations position likely gained over a period of 10+ years.
  • Industry Recognised Vessel Stability Management qualifications (eg Deck officer Competency), or BTEC NC / HNC and Level III Supervisor NVQ or equivalent Marine qualifications.
  • Proactive approach to HE&S initiatives. Promotes a high level of awareness in self and others. Compliance with relevant procedures Knowledge in implementing HES/OE management systems.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills with proven track record in delivering business results. Self motivator and ability to motivate others. Reinforces “can do” attitude.
  • Qualified Deputy OIM under UK regulations -OR- demonstrated potential to achieve competence in the Management of Major Emergencies.
  • Continual personal development of alternative skills and qualifications is expected.
  • Excellent communications skills with demonstrated Chevron Way behaviours and ability to develop and sustain collaborative relationships with other assets and functional teams to share lessons learned and best practice.
