To be hands on with the development and testing of GSM/GPRS/EDGE technologies .This position also offers exposure to the inter-working aspects of advanced 3G/4G technologies (WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and LTE).
To be part of the team of systems engineers responsible for designing, defining, verifying and integrating physical layer requirements and algorithms for complex digital modem ASIC products with an emphasis on GSM/GPRS/EDGE technologies. Role provides unique opportunity to be involved from conception to final commercialization.
Develop floating point and fixed point C code for GSM base band modem signal processing algorithms
To provide systems support for architectural implementation of modem signal processing algorithms in hardware and/or firmware.
To support debugging Physical layer performance issues in Lab using Logic Analyzer, oscilloscopes, ICE tools, etc.
To support debugging Physical layer performance issues observed in the field.
To become conversant with the 3GPP technical specifications to which Qualcomm's products conform
To share areas of specialist knowledge with other members of staff, making technical presentations, doing code reviews as required
Good grasp of theoretical concepts along with practical implementation experience in developing communications systems through research projects in university
Ability to work in multi-discipline team to design, develop, test and debug a complete wireless communications system in the lab and in the field
Candidate should be fresh PhD graduate in field of signal processing
Candidate should have IEEE conference papers and journal publications in Signal Processing and/or Communications as first author
Candidate should have excellent academic credentials and achievements
Candidate should have good programming skills in C and Matlab
Strong background in communication theory and digital signal processing with a good understanding of GSM/GPRS/EDGE and/or WCDMA physical layer.
Experience in GSM/GPRS/EDGE physical layer design.
Experience with Firmware programming and implementation of systems algorithms is a plus
Good communication skills and strongly motivated to take on new challenges
