Telefónica is seeking PMO / Programme Management Office professionals to join our Smart Metering team in Slough. *
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have taken a leading position in the EU by building the Smart Metering Implementation Programme (SMIP). This is a large scale programme supporting climate change objectives through the mass deployment of 50m+ electricity and gas smart meters across 30m homes starting in September 2015.
Telefónica believes that smart meters are the foundation of smarter energy. They have the potential to be truly transformational in the way households and businesses consume energy, and the way we live our lives
SMIP services will enable more efficient use of energy and lower carbon emissions. Consumers and businesses will be able to monitor and manage their energy consumption, and reduce their bills. Energy suppliers will have the ability to read and manage meter readings more frequently and remotely, ending the need for estimated billing.
DECC’s smart metering strategy also provides a platform for innovation and the development of exciting new products and services which can enhance consumers lives. Smart homes, smart grids and smart cities will become a reality aligned to digital services such as e-health, home security and electric vehicle charging.
Telefónica is bidding to become the governments Communications Service Provider (CSP) for the programme.
We are looking for experienced PMO professionals to join our team in Slough or Leeds. If you're aPMO Manager or PMO Analyst with a strong background in working in large scale IT/Digital programmes, you could be the person we're looking for. We're establishing a team from scratch so the right person needs to be a self-starter, agile and have the ability to work in a very fast moving and dynamic environment.
We are particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience of Smart Metering or M2M.
