Job Description

  • Develop the business and product strategy for the segment, and embody this in a business plan that can be communicated to the business.
  • Maintain the business plan through the PILM process, being able to communicate performance against plan for key investment decisions and asses required efficiency improvement on service delivery. Maintain the programme-level Portfolio backlog.
  • Own the product and service over the lifecycle, owning the roadmap for capability introduction and improvements and the timeline for new functionality delivery to the customer, plus the retirement of solutions at the end of the lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activity across the business to bring together customer and market requirements to ensure product and service capability are mature and ready for sale.
  • Responsible for ensuring we build competitive differentiators and barriers to entry into our products and services
  • Responsible for IP identification and protection to achieve sustainable competitive advantage
  • Support the customer business teams in sales activity, acting as the expert for the product and service offering.
  • Develop standard pricing and business models, customer engagement strategies, sales materials and demos, training for sales teams and ongoing communication of product and service upgrades.
  • Responsible for product and service user forums across the user community, including Rolls-Royce.
  • Responsible for ensuring the business has appropriate market intelligence about developments in the market segment, attending industry forums and events. Including talking at partner events to maintain OSyS? position as industry leader in our chosen market segments.
  • Supports the Business Development team to assess development partners, technology partners and acquisitions in the market segment. In particular identifying capability gaps versus market need and how these will be filled (i.e. organic or non-organic development)
  • Works with other Product Managers, Product Owners and Architects to ensure that we construct a set of highly integrated products across sector boundaries


  • Minimum Bachelors degree with additional business management training
  • Experience of creating and delivering software / IT products to market
  • Strong knowledge of work management, business process automation or business intelligence technologies
  • Experience of one or more of the Aviation, Marine, Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Defence Industries
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and persuade
  • Experience of leading teams at a senior level as well as training and developing others
  • Experience of working in a consulting or technology services environment
  • Experience to identify, map and implement complex business transformation solutions by working closely with client organizations.
