Effective November 1st 2013, we require a trained and industry-experienced degree level scientist (BSc level or higher) to work in a Products Research role for a large international consumer products company. The role is within Colour Cosmetics Product Development, and involves working with a multi-functional team to develop and deploy product initiatives to market that drive consumer delight and strong business results. The role requires experience of colour cosmetics product design, including expertise in consumer research methods, ability to develop technical test methods to measure optical and sensorial product performance, and experience in the use of these methods to substantiate marketing claims. As part of this role, you will be the point contact for the development and deployment of initiatives for the China market. This requires the creation of locally-relevant technical claims and demos, working closely with the local marketing organisation to create locally-relevant communications. Fluency in both spoken/written Mandarin and English, and strong communication and collaboration skills are required, as is knowledge of the attitudes and habits of European and Chinese cosmetics consumers. The candidate should be a dedicated, effective team player, with strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven leadership and project management skills, and the ability to operate with high level of autonomy, are also required.
